Used to describe the data without explicitly modeling the transition between individuals.

Definition

Like the Model - SIR in that it looks at susceptibles and infected. Unlike the SIR model because it does not explicitly describe the transmission between individuals. The Force of Infection is not expressed by the transmission coefficient, for example.
